Having received 1,429 of the 3,094 votes cast from countries throughout the world, we are thrilled to announce that Adelie Health has won our Wild Card EDGE public vote!
Adelie Health, founded by Liam Mc Morrow, is a digital health startup with the aim of developing innovative products to help people with diabetes. Liam has lived with diabetes for 15 years and launched Adelie Health with his flagship product - Insulin PenPal, a replacement pen cap that fits on to insulin pens and allows users to take control of their insulin dosing.
On hearing of his success in the Wild Card EDGE Public vote, Liam said:
I’m thrilled to have been given to chance to pitch in the live Scottish EDGE final and I’m very grateful to all who voted for Adelie Health.
Winning Scottish EDGE will enable us to work with the best product designers in Scotland to further develop Insulin PenPal and take us one step closer to helping millions of people with diabetes.
Evelyn McDonald, CEO of Scottish EDGE, said:
Our three Wild Card EDGE public vote contenders have been outstanding in their efforts to secure votes and win a place at the Scottish EDGE final. All three raised the bar in the level of campaigning undertaken and the vote count doubled on that of last round.
Once again, the public more than rose to the occasion and the level of participation was as energetic as it was endearing. We look forward to seeing Liam pitch at the final next month and to presenting all three businesses with their Wild Card EDGE awards.
