Scottish EDGE raise £1,450 for STV Appeal as part of the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2016

One week on from the intriguing Old Firm game, Hampden Park was the venue for an even more exciting event – the start of the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2016. After an inspiring speech from Sir Tom Hunter and a weather update from Sean Batty, 4,500 walkers were set on their way for the twenty-six mile ‘Mighty Stride.’ Within this year’s pack was Steven Hamill, Chief Operating Officer at the Scottish EDGE, representing the Scottish EDGE team in their efforts to raise £1,450 for STV Appeal. Setting off to the sound of bagpipes, the atmosphere was electric, but the greeting at the finish line seven hours later was even better.

It was a brilliant day but the most inspiring part of participating in the Kiltwalk is seeing so many people support the charities close to their hearts. There are constant reminders along the Kiltwalk course of the difference the fundraising makes to children across Scotland and at the Scottish EDGE we are so proud to have played a small part in helping under-privileged children through the STV Appeal. However, we couldn’t have done this without the fantastic support of the people who have donated to help us raise an amazing £1,450 – thank you so much. It’s still not too late if you want to help increase our support to the STV Appeal and if you wish to donate you can do so here.
