Scottish EDGE Winners Announced

#EDGEFinal6 took place on Friday 12th June at RBS Gogarburn. 26 finalists pitched on the day with 16 of our applicants taking away funding.  The list of winners and the amount in which they received are listed below.

SCOTEDGE WINNERS

  •  Beer52.com – £40,000 – The UK’s no. 1 craft beer club which links small craft breweries with craft beer fans across the UK
  • Carbon Black System Ltd – £100,000 – A company which provides customers with high-tech custom built stylish carbon fibre wheelchairs
  • CLDB – £50,000 – A company which provides off-site manufactured, cost effective , low energy building using natural materials
  • Freedom One Life Ltd – £100,000 – A company which designs and manufactures a new generation of power wheelchairs
  • Geek Retreat – £30,000 – A comic book store and gaming café aimed at “Geeks”
  • Helson and Jackets LLP – £75,000 – 3D 360 degree video display, that creates full moving video objects that appear to float in space
  • Hidden Armada – £40,000 – A start-up which is currently developing a PC game called Mutiny, where your phone becomes your controller
  • Ibisvision Limited – £50,000 – Developed “RingOfSight” –  a revolutionary software based system for  diagnosis  of glaucoma
  • Katy Rodger’s Artisan Dairy – £50,000 – A company which produces a range of dairy products including Ice cream and yogurt from their family farm
  • Medicen Devise Limited – £65,000 – A company which developed a new medical sterilised catheter device called “Steriderm”
  • Nutrifiz Ltd – £40,000 – The world’s first effervescent wheatgrass tablet
  • Orwell and Goode – £30,000 – A lifestyle brand creating innovative textile based products including cushions and wallpaper
  • Adimo – £65,000 – an app which allows brands to add promotional products to their customer’s online supermarket basket
  • Shot Scope Technologies Ltd – £50,000 – wearable technology that automatically collects scoring and statistical data for golfers
  • The Wee Tea Plantation Limited – £50,000 – Scotland’s only tea plantation which counts Kensington Palace and Balmoral Hotel as customers
  • VH Innovation Ltd – £65,000 – designed the “Recoil Kneepad” – new more comfortable and protective kneepad design

YoungEDGE WINNERS

  • Nuwave Solutions Ltd – £10,000 – “Ecohib” – eco-friendly product can protect your heating and cooling systems for up to 5 times longer
  • Medicen Devise Ltd – £10,000 – Develped a new medical sterilised catheter device called “Steriderm”
  • Murray & Duncan Ltd – £9,000 – Online platform allowing fixed fee, low cost, access to civil justice, dispute resolutions for SMEs
  • Cojengo Ltd –  £8,000 – Created app solutions to address animal and human health issues in developing world
  • snap40 Ltd – £7,500 –  Device that detects the early warning signs of patient deterioration which can lead to cardiac arrest
  • Metix Ltd – £6,000 – Developed “CoreMed Aid” – a medical handheld and wearable vital signs monitor
  • Making Trax Ltd – £5,000 – Sports tour company who provide schools and clubs with a once in a lifetime sporting trip
  • Hubsolv Ltd – £5,000 – Cloud based CRM software for personal insolvency industry
  • Beer52.com – £5,000 – Offer monthly delivery of selected independent UK microbrewery craft beers
  • Barking Rad Ltd – £5,000 – Monthly box of trendy toys, treats and grooming products for dogs
  • Rebecca Torres Ltd – £4,500 – A luxury Scottish clothing brand specialising in the use of luxurious sports led fabrics

  • Cargoseat Ltd –  £10,000 – Booster seat that doubles up as practical children’s luggage for use when travelling.
  • SafeSpot Ltd –  £10,000 – SafeSpot mobile app – mental health education programme designed for children and young adults
  • Steam Stripper Plus Ltd –  £10,000 – A new innovative product that will enable the quick and easy removal of wallpaper
  • Swell Rise Ltd – £10,000 – Developed a chia and oats breakfast pot aimed at on-the-go consumers
  • Surfbuddi Ltd – £10,000 – Cloud based intelligent monitoring system aimed at empowering children to be safer online
  • Nautilus Beam Ltd – £10,000 – Smartwatch that allows for smarter, faster and more portable text input
  • ACC+ESS Ltd – £9,500 – Designed a unique model railway wireless control system
  • SealBoards Ltd – £9,000 – “SealBlades” – will give surfers up to 40% more speed so they can catch more waves.
  • Playlingo – £8,500 – Buzzlingo – a new type of English language learning game for mobile devices
  • Social Screen Ltd – £8,000  – “Social Film” – will allow independent film producers platform to crowdfund their film and create buzz
  • Studio 2080 Ltd – £5,000 – Lights4Kids and MicroDrip aim to help the lives of kids in West Africa
