We have not taken this course of action lightly as we know it will be disappointing to our applicants. However, we believe it is the right decision as the Round 16 applications were submitted largely before this situation transpired. A funding proposal written in February we are sure will look a lot different to one written as we emerge out of this unprecedented time. Many of the businesses who entered Round 16 will welcome the chance to revisit their product/service and business plans as the market and the opportunities to raise finance have changed, in some cases significantly. To support them in this we will be offering all the feedback gleaned by our stalwart judges on the Round 16 applications allowing our applicants we hope to come back with re-modelled proposals for support when we reopen the competition.
For now our small team will focus on working with and supporting the 335 EDGE Alumni currently trading and on our own business to ensure we come back stronger than ever in support of Scottish EDGE businesses and the entrepreneurial community as a whole.
We look forward to welcoming applicants and our supporters back to Scottish EDGE Round 16 hopefully in July. In the interim I hope you, your colleagues and your business stay healthy and safe.
