BLUSHO is the new way to share, spot and shop for beauty online. BLUSHO is an image-driven discovery platform, bridging the gap between browsing and buying. Contributors upload makeup ‘selfies’, tag the products they used and we make this content shoppable. Users find inspiration from thousands of real life images, tap to see the exact products used, and shop the look direct.
Discussing the business, Paula Skinner, partner at Harper Macleod and Wild Card EDGE final panel member, said; “BLUSHO’s idea was fantastic and one that I personally would use. It has a huge amount of global potential given the value of the cosmetics industry worldwide. Their branding is distinctive and they have came a long way in a relatively short period of time. They have a strong team behind them with experience of growing early stage businesses.”
The winning business will now be given the opportunity to pitch for additional funding at the Scottish EDGE final on June 20th, 2016. Evelyn McDonald, CEO of Scottish EDGE, commented; “We’re absolutely delighted to be able to announce the winner of our first ever Wild Card EDGE competition. All three businesses were worthy contenders and we’ve been blown away with the level of support they have received. We look forward to seeing BLUSHO pitch at the final later this month and to supporting all three businesses as they continue their entrepreneurial journeys.”
Of the 2,509 votes received, BLUSHO received 1,179 votes (47%), Estendio 459 votes (18%) and Pio Design 871 votes (35%).
